Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) — For a 21st year, anglers will group to Island Lake Saturday in an bid to fight ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
On Friday, organizers kicked off a Kolar Toyota ALS Walleye Tournament, that has lifted $2.5 million dollars given 1996.
Former NHL stars Jim Johnson (an ex-UMD Bulldog), Darby Hendrickson are fasten Hrbek, a former Minnesota Twin great. All 3 offer as contest hosts. Johnson and Hendrickson are coaches in a NHL, Johnson many recently with a Edmonton Oilers and Hendrickson with a Minnesota Wild.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a deadly illness that affects scarcely 500 people in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Superior, WI. Although there is now no heal or treatment, advances in medical record are permitting people with ALS to lead some-more eccentric and prolific lives. Dollars lifted from this eventuality will not usually go toward furthering research, though also to assisting people with ALS here in a Northland.
