Community turns out to support Bayonne manager with ALS (PHOTOS)

BAYONNE — Community members showed their adore and support for a Bayonne High School manager with ALS earlier this afternoon during a sharp-witted fundraising event.

Brandon Smith, 30, a propagandize confidence ensure who helps manager basketball and football, was diagnosed final Jul with amyotrophic parallel sclerosis, mostly referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”

Those diagnosed with a neurodegenerative illness might remove a ability to speak, eat, pierce and breathe, according to a ALS Association. The meant presence time with ALS, that doesn’t have a cure, is 3 to 5 years, though many people live five, 10 or some-more years, a organisation said.

“It was a good experience. we had a lot of fun,” a manager told The Jersey Journal. “It was really sparkling to see everybody come out.”

Student-made posters hung on a sequence couple blockade during a event, with some reading “God Bless You Brandon,” “We Support Brandon!” and “Stay Strong.”

Newspaper clips about Smith and photos of his football career as it unfolded over a years dangled from a clothesline nearby.

Smith’s fiancée, Christyann Altamirano, was blissful to see that a fundraiser had a good audience after it had to be postponed last month due to severe weather.

“We’re only beholden for everybody who came out to support Brandon,” she said.
