South Jersey Man Fighting ALS Thanks Strangers For Help

ATCO, N.J., (CBS) — A South Jersey male is fighting for his life, after a crippling illness took control. The kinship health word he counted on usually recently changed, and now he’s thanking finish strangers for opening their pockets to assistance give him another day.
“That ventilator over there, if we take that off, we stop breathing, plain and simple,” Joe Swider told Eyewitness News.
Life these days isn’t easy for 66-year-old Swider. The father of 4 and grandfather of 11 spends his days cramped to a chair in a dilemma of his vital room. He’s anticipating to live as prolonged as possible.
“I’m flattering most quick from a neck up. From a neck down it is what it is,” he said.
Swider was once an active man. A Phillies fan given birth, he went to open training in Florida one year with a team. His life altered in 2012, and fast.
