Tennessee Titans name ex-LB Tim Shaw, battling ALS, captain

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans announced their 2017 group captains with 5 of a team’s biggest leaders and one special warn member, former linebacker Tim Shaw.
The further of Shaw signifies a purpose his participation and quarrel opposite Lou Gehrig’s illness (amyotrophic parallel sclerosis) has on a Titans locker room. Shaw stays a unchanging around a Titans trickery during training camp, home and divided games. He’s giving motivational speeches to a group as well.
“It is genuine special for Tim to be with us,” linebacker Wesley Woodyard, one of a Titans’ other captains, told a group website. “Nobody knows how many days we have on this earth, and him battling ALS, it shows a bravery he has to keep going on. It is extraordinary to have him around, and we delight him.”
Shaw played 3 seasons with a Titans from 2010 to ’12 and was a special-teams captain for his final dual seasons in Tennessee. He announced that he has ALS in 2014 during an Ice Bucket Challenge video.
