Gerald Lewis, 75, is incompetent to travel since of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, and needs a $16,000 red 2004 Chevy Silverado versed with rises to get around, pronounced Orange City military Lt. Jason Sampsell.
His wife, Mary Lewis, 64, reported a car stolen Sunday. She detected a pickup blank from a garage when she went in to do laundry, according to a military occurrence report.
Someone pennyless into a Lewis garage during their West Blue Springs Avenue home on Jan. 26 and stole a car and other diverse items, military said.
“The car is singular in that it had rises on a newcomer side opening and on a bed so we are wondering if someone knew of this and we perplexing to figure out either a lorry was targeted,” Sampsell said.
Police are interviewing family members and friends to see if they can get leads as to a locale of a pickup and suspects, Sampsell said.
